The company will start operation of a full commercial plant in November 2015, with a production capacity of 15,000 tons/year.

Airex Energy is a spin-off of Airex Industries, an established manufacturer of dust collectors and industrial oven, and includes investors like Cycle Capital Management and Desjardins Capital de Risque. Airex Energy is also supported by the Canadian government through Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), and the Quebec government through Technoclimat and Investissement Québec. Airex has raised more than $12M to date to develop the CarbonFX process and the first commercial plant. Airex is a member of IBTC (International Biomass Torrefaction Council).
